Privacy Policy

ScanBridge is a local tool: the phone scans a barcode and sends it to a computer on the same network. The product has no accounts, cloud server or advertising trackers. Below is what stays on the devices and how it is handled.

1. Data controller

The owner of the ScanBridge project. Contact for questions and requests:vaskodegamo01@gmail.com. Legal entity details will be added here before the paid version is published.

2. Desktop application

• Settings (port, template, CSV/XLSX paths, theme) are stored in a local SQLite database on the computer.
• The scan log is stored there too and can be deleted with the “Clear” button.
• Scan contents are not written to technical logs. Logs contain service events without barcode values or tokens.
• Data is not sent to the internet: the app runs as a local WebSocket server.

3. Mobile application

• Scans and history are stored in the app's local SQLite database.
• The computer address and one-time pairing token are stored in the app's private storage so you do not scan the QR code on every launch. The token has a limited lifetime; long-term keys will arrive with TLS.
• Camera access is used only to recognize codes. Images are not stored or transmitted.
• mDNS discovery advertises only the service name and service attributes on the local network.

4. Website

• The site is static. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
• Browser localStorage stores the selected theme and the cookie consent flag. This data does not leave the browser.
• The host may keep standard access logs (IP, request time) for delivery and abuse protection. The host's policy applies to those logs.

5. Legal bases and retention

Processing is limited to performing the app usage agreement and the legitimate interest in security. Local data is kept until the user deletes it or uninstalls the app. Pairing tokens have a limited lifetime shown in the interface.

6. Your rights

You can view, export and delete the scan log in the app, clear app data through Android and delete the local database on the computer. For questions, write tovaskodegamo01@gmail.com.

7. Children

The product is not aimed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

If cloud mode, accounts or payments are added, this policy will be updated before those features are enabled. The revision date is shown at the top of this page.

This is working text for the beta. Before publishing a paid version it must be reviewed by a lawyer for the owner's jurisdiction and target markets.
